Event Update

Thank you to our Sponsors, Sam Adams Beer, Uber Car, Sean Donlan Financial Advisor, Knights of Columbus 2858, Shamrock Stage Coach, RAT Radio and the GREAT GOTTS!

Thank you to McLoone's for Hosting us again!

Thank you to the City of Long Branch for your excellent support and cooperation!

Thank you to all of my AOH Brothers and Families who helped with Plunge Day!

Thank you Mrs. Sharon Shaw for putting up with me!

The schools are still receiving Plunge Funds in.   Currently we are in the $140,000 range.
Overall a great day for our Catholic Schools.   More Schools than ever 26!  The weather cooperated and it wasn't that cold.  36 Air and 42 Water sounds cold, but  it was a warm sun and no wind.   I think the Farmer's Almanac was pretty close to right.   God always Blesses us with the best day of the period.

All money received by the AOH has been sent to the Schools.

Still Learning:
The Parade of Plungers ended up as the Traffic Jam of Plungers, so that will be modified.

This is our second year the AOH has not collected the money from the Plungers.  It has a lot of advantages including getting you your money sooner and the AOH not having to count it all.   We have to fix the collection and reporting method.   We get some duplicate forms at Registration and it messes up the number.   For example:  a student reports $200 in school and then comes to Registration with a form for $200 with no money attached as if it was a new Registration.   With the wide use of Go Fund Me type account, it happens often that we are given forms with no money attached.   That's fine, we want to eliminate double counting.

Asbury Park Press Plunge Article Error

A recent article in the Asbury Park Press incorrectly named the AOH Polar Plunge For Catholic Education as the CBA Polar Plunge.   We understand and support each school reaching out to their supporters by calling the Plunge by their School Name.  A misinterpretation of the information on the CBA Website was incorrectly picked up and used in the story on upcoming Polar Plunges.

Thank you for your notes.   We are working with the APP and CBA to correct the story.
Best regards
Jim Shaw

2015 AOH Polar Plunge for Catholic Education

Information for the 2015 AOH Polar Plunge for Catholic Education SPONSORED BY: SAM ADAMS BEER SPONSORED BY: UBER CAR SPONSORED BY: SEAN DONLAN CPA HOSTED BY: McLoone's Pier Village, Long Branch, NJ Date: Sunday, January 11, 2015 Event Opens: 10:30 Registration Closes: 12:30 In Water: 1:00 McLoone's Restaurant is a beautiful restaurant on the Atlantic Ocean in Long Branch. The Pier Village complex hosts a variety of shops and restaurants which will be open on the day of our event. The boardwalk overlooks the beach and provides a great vantage point for the spectators to view the Plunge. McLoone's will offer a variety of grab and go food items as well as their menu items. There will be music provided at McLoones in the morning and afternoon. The AOH Polar Plunge for Catholic Education is unique event in that the schools retain 100% of the money the collect. The AOH raises the money for Police, First Aid, Life Guards, Insurance, Music and all of the expenses of the day. This presents the schools with the opportunity to participate without the organizational activities and expenses of the event. They can focus on the fund-raising for their schools. Schools have used the money for scholarships, financial aid, projects, team equipment, team trips, infrastructure, and elimination of fees.
