I went out and bought some Cheater eye glasses after diving in with and emerging without my glasses.

Congratulations on a Successful AOH Polar Plunge for Catholic Education

We are currently at $127 K and will be recieving some Post-Plunge Checks

Dispite the Challenges To Have The Plunge
It Was The Most Fun Yet!

Saturday, January 12, 2013

At the Plunge Cleanup today, we discovered the Army Corp of Engineers had erected a rather large pipe on our Plunge Beach.  The agreed to construct a sand ramp over the pipe that will allow us to cross over to the ocean.  Other than that, the beach was beautiful.

As usual, it is recommended that you wear old sneakers or water shoes if you are plunging.   The beach sand can get cold and the municipal parking does have stones, shells and other beach materials. For new plungers, stay dressed until it's time to Plunge

The Sea Bright Fire Department has received a liquor license for the event.   They will be serving beer.  Food at the Plunge may be limited this year, so bringing a sub may not be a bad idea.

Good news is that for next year, we have already been approached by a Beach Club to host the Event.

Assuming we don't arrive at the beach to Killer Sharks, swarms of Jelly Fish or angry Blue Crabs, in the end, we complete the mission tomorrow.  We will have raised needed cash for students, projects, teams, infrastructure, or fees and we will know that we took a stand for Catholic Education.  Celebrate your victory.  You deserve it!

Plunge Moved To Municipal Beach

I HOPE WE GET A DAY LIKE TODAY FOR OUR PLUNGE NEXT WEEK.  IT'S GOURGOUS OUTSIDE!

Friends
On Sunday, we recieved a call from the Surf Rider indicating that the latest Nor'easter caused additional damage to their facility that required repair and they would not be able to host.   Of course we are disappointed by this news, but being Irish, we never give up the fight.
THE PLUNGE WILL GO ON!
Where:  Sea Bright Municipal Beach
Hosting:  Sea Bright Fire Company
Time:      Registration opens 10:30, closes at 12:30
In Water:  1:00

RAT Radio will be providing music and joining us in the Water:  Gotta Love GOTTS
After-party
The party after the Plunge will be held at the AOH Hall in Middletown immediately following the Plunge.   The Hall is located near Palmer Ave. and Hwy 36 in Middletown.  This is approximately 12 miles travel. (Click For Map/Directions)
We contremplated a tent, but the cost is $3000 - $4000.  We would prefer to make a significant contribution to the Emergency Services (PD, FD, FA) in Sea Bright rather than rent a tent that people may or may not use.
The Hall has 6 TV's which will have the Play-off Games.   We will have several bars to help warm up.   The AOH will provide food and soft drinks for the participants at the Hall.   We will also have Round The House playing at the Hall.
In the end, the most important point is.......We take the Plunge for our students and our schools, raise the money and know that we didn't let anything stop us
This year's Polar Plunge Shirt reads:  He Who Perseveres Conquers.
Let's Conquer!  Overcoming the challenges can make this our best day ever.
I'm going in that water on the 13th, if I have to chip a hole in the frozen Atlantic.  I know you will join me.  Someone bring the Rum Jumbies.
Some people want to bring buses and campers; bring them!

After Party - will be held at the AOH Hall in Middletown near the corner of Palmer Ave and Hwy 36 in Middletown.   It is about 12 miles from the Plunge.   The damage from the hurricane/Nor'easter to Surf Rider has required us to have the event at our hall.
The good news is:  The hall has the TV's for the games, bar, is warm, will have music and activities for the students who come.  The AOH will be providing food for the participants/guests at the Hall.   We need a guesstimate of how many will return to the Hall in order to ensure we have enough food.  We hope a lot of people come back for the party and ceremonial check presentation.
Best regards
Jim Shaw

The Plunge Will Go On In Sea Bright

We have confirmed with the Mayor of Sea Bright that the AOH Polar Plunge for Catholic Education will take place in the town.   We had been receiving this message, but it is certainly good news to have the info directly from the Town Leader.
Hand out those Pledge forms
Get those sponsors
Hold your Fund-raisers
Get People talking and excited
It may not be the luxury we had last year with MerryMakers at Water's Edge, but we are going to everything in our power to make this best experience of our Polar Plunging careers
.
1.  This is our unofficial kick-off to Catholic Schools Week
2.  We will raise money to support our Catholic Schools and Students
3.  Our event can aid in the recovery of Sea Bright from Hurricane Sandy
I am so excited to bring this message to you.  I know there have been a lot of questions about whether this could be pulled off.
With God All Things Are Possible.  We will make this happen!!!  More Info To Follow!!!!
Merry Christmas
